” The theme of ‘Tong-e’, which means home, is expressed in lacquer materials with Korean lyricism, so that comfortable contemplation can be conveyed through the work. In the name of a home where you can rest comfortably without burden, the word “tung-e” is used as a metaphor for one’s own home or mother’s arms, and it reminds us of mother’s arms in the dialect of Dungwoori(nest). In his/her heart, the peace of a simple life calmly flows.
Psychological stability is a natural desire of people. The pursuit of comfort is also a way of the will to overcome a state of insecurity.
The feeling of newly acquired happiness, loss of old things, and conflicts arising from adapting to unfamiliar things while leaving home to build a family, and to personify animals on behalf of humans In order to express this strangely conflicting feeling and to shape the mental expression that a place where my heart is comfortable can become my home, I use the lacquer technique to radiate lyrical sensibility and bring out the functionality of lacquer with artistry to create a simple life. We want to deliver an image that can bring psychological stability. “– JiEun Park
